Jacob joined Holmes Chambers in November 2023.

Before joining Holmes Chambers, Jacob was employed for 6 years as assistant public defender in the Legal Aid Queensland in house counsel team. He undertook a broad spectrum of legal work, including appearances in superior court criminal trials, Supreme Court applications involving criminal proceeds, contested matters in the Mental Health Court and under Dangerous Prisoner legislation as well as in matters before the Parole Board and the Court of Appeal.

Prior to that he accumulated 17 years’ service with the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions. (DPP) He progressed to the role of Principal Crown Prosecutor, handling major fraud, drug trafficking, and homicide cases. He led the prosecution of superior court jury trials, gaining expertise in the prosecution of complex and high-profile matters.
